Stephen Moore Highlights Gardaí’s Transferable Skills on Q102

This morning, Out of the Blue founder Stephen Moore joined the Q102 Breakfast Show to speak about the often-overlooked strengths of those serving — and formerly serving — in An Garda Síochána.
In conversation with the Q102 team, Stephen emphasised that Gardaí possess a broad range of transferable skills that are highly valuable in the civilian workforce.
From decision-making under pressure and conflict resolution to communication, leadership and integrity — these are not just qualities suited to public service, but to private sector roles, corporate security, training, coaching, compliance, project management, and more.
The discussion aimed to challenge the perception that transitioning out of a frontline role is a step down — when in reality, it can be the start of an entirely new and rewarding chapter.
“Whether you’re still serving or have already retired, your experience is more valuable than you might realise,” said Stephen.
