The past year has been nothing short of a remarkable journey for Out of the Blue Training Ltd.
Founded in late 2023 by Stephen Moore, a former member of An Garda Síochána with two decades of dedicated service, the transition to entrepreneurship was a leap of faith. The familiar whisper of imposter syndrome was a constant companion, a testament to the significant shift from a structured public service career to the dynamic world of business.
However, a firm belief in the power of knowledge as a foundation for confidence fueled the venture.
This commitment to continuous learning remains at the heart of Out of the Blue’s ethos – every day truly is a learning opportunity. Out of the Blue has rapidly evolved into a vital resource, not only for those transitioning out of uniformed service but also for individuals currently serving and those aspiring to a life dedicated to public duty.
Our three highly successful expos, held in Dublin and Cork, have become landmark events, fostering invaluable connections among service personnel from across Ireland. These expos have solidified their position as essential gatherings for anyone serious about a career in service or those diligently planning their retirement and the next chapter.
Since its inception, Out of the Blue has played a pivotal role in guiding numerous individuals on their unique paths. Whether it’s providing support and guidance to those seeking to join An Garda Síochána or empowering serving members with the tools for career progression, our commitment is unwavering. We understand that a life in service, while deeply rewarding, can at times feel isolating. Knowing where to turn for trusted mentorship and advice can be a significant challenge.
Out of the Blue has proudly stepped into this space, becoming a reliable source of support and connection for many. Our impact extends beyond the traditional uniformed services. We have had the privilege of delivering bespoke retirement courses for esteemed institutions such as the Houses of the Oireachtas and South Dublin County Council, equipping individuals with the skills and knowledge needed for a successful transition into retirement. Furthermore, we empower individuals with practical skills for the modern professional landscape, including harnessing the power of LinkedIn and identifying and applying for valuable upskilling opportunities.
Looking ahead, Out of the Blue has ambitious plans to further enhance its support for the service community. We are excited to announce the upcoming launch of our dedicated recruitment arm. This initiative will directly connect companies and organisations with highly skilled and disciplined candidates from the service sector, creating mutually beneficial opportunities.
Additionally, we are diligently working towards the launch of an Irish blue light card. This much-anticipated initiative will provide service personnel and military personnel with access to discounts on everyday essentials, a tangible way of acknowledging their invaluable contribution. At Out of the Blue Training Ltd., our core belief remains steadfast: Those who dedicate their lives to serving our country deserve to be looked after and supported at every stage of their journey. We are committed to being that unwavering source of support, empowering them to navigate their careers and transitions with confidence and clarity.
